Why did you decide to join Lycia?

I was drawn to Lycia by the science and the people. After reading the original LYTAC papers, I thought the approach of leveraging the cells own machinery made a lot of sense and getting in on the ground floor of this new field was exciting. I then met my future team and felt immediately welcome. 

What makes Lycia a great place to work?

We are truth-seekers, and I see this push to understand and tackle challenging questions all the time. I really enjoy the cross-collaborative teams and have learned a lot because of this. It's especially exciting to contribute to a platform that will bring medicines to patients.

I think being surrounded by humble scientists makes it easy to build on ideas together and learn from mistakes. We are committed to each other’s growth and want to make sure our questions and opinions are valued.

Why did you decide to join Lycia?

Novel technology: I was first attracted to Lycia by their innovative LYTAC technology which is truly fascinating. The idea of being able to successfully drive undesired therapeutic targets into an incredibly efficient intracellular degradation is revolutionary and preliminary results show that it is working! 

Great talent: I was impressed by the talent of the Lycia scientists and the rest of the company. It is true that they have all been wisely selected to drive the company to the ultimate success.

What makes Lycia a great place to work?

Lycia respects individual scientific effort, but at the same time fosters productive team-work. The harmonious co-existence of Lycia’s employees is strengthened by a number of team-building events, group outings, as well as individual achievement awards and frequent manager appreciation.

How would you describe the culture at Lycia?

Lycia has a true family culture, a culture comprised of individual contributors who enjoy working together and are all treated with outmost respect. Lycians are open-minded and are encouraged to think out-of-the-box, look at the big picture and at the same time focus on detail. This is a hybrid culture of academic and industry mentality which is usually difficult to maintain under the umbrella of a fast-pace biotech start-up but Lycia has indeed managed to do that!
