William J. Rieflin has served as Chair and a member of our board of directors since December 2020. Mr. Rieflin previously served as Chair of the Board of Directors of NGM Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. until November 2025, after having served as Chief Executive Officer of the company and a member of its Board from September 2010 to September 2018. Prior to joining NGM, he was President of XenoPort, Inc., which was acquired by Arbor Pharmaceuticals in 2016, and Executive Vice President, Administration, Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel, and Secretary for Tularik Inc., which was acquired by Amgen Inc. in 2004. Previously, he was Vice President, Human Resources, General Counsel and Secretary for AMSCO International, Inc. He was also an associate at Sidley & Austin in the corporate and securities department. In addition to Lycia, he is currently on the Board of Directors of Lyell Immunopharma. Mr. Rieflin received his B.S. from Cornell University, his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and his J.D. from Stanford Law School.
